MOWING and EDGING
Our standard mowing service is done with mulching mowers, weed eating around the perimeters (not in the beds), edging the front concrete to grass areas (curb, walks, drive) and then blowing off all concrete areas front and back.
Scheduled mowing can help keep your grass looking healthy. A proper cutting height and cutting off just the right amount of grass blades is important to a healthy lawn. Experience has taught us how to do it. Weekly or every other week mowing service is available.
FUNGUS/DISEASE/WEED/INSECT CONTROL
Weed control is treated as agreed to. Healthy grass reduces the chance of weeds taking hold. Weed seeds germinate as conditions allow. When treated in the fall, they can be minimized to ensure a more weed-free start in the spring.
Crabgrass treatment in spring (mid-May to June) is recommended. Crabgrass can be persistent, helped along by warm temperatures, and room to grow. Get Crabgrass/weed control combination treatment before crabgrass takes hold. This combination is often effective through to the fall.
Crabgrass Spot Treatment targets the actual crabgrass, not the entire lawn. We recommend this service if your lawn needs a treatment later in the season.
White grub control is most effective as a prevention measure before eggs hatch. White grubs are the larvae of the European Chafer Beetle. These beetles fly in swarms at dusk in late June/early July, mating as they swarm. After landing in trees, on shrubs, lampposts, or wherever, they drop down to the soil, burrow in, then lay their many eggs. The eggs hatch in early August, and the hungry larvae feed voraciously on grass roots.
We can diagnose the problem, and recommend the most effective treatment. Uncontrolled turf fungus and disease conditions can lead to an unhealthy and unsightly lawn. Moss is prevalent in shade and/or difficult growth areas for turf. We have methods of control that will restore your problem areas.
SOD REPAIRS
Technically speaking, aeration is the naturally occurring process of air exchange between the soil and its surrounding atmosphere. Practically speaking, aeration is the process of mechanically removing small plugs of thatch and soil from the lawn to improve soil aeration. Core aeration benefits your lawn in spring or fall, by reducing soil compaction, and aiding root growth. Root strength is the center of health in any lawn. The plugs extracted during aeration enhance digestion of the thatch helping it break down quickly, and return valuable topsoil to the turf to nurture root growth.
A damaged lawn can be a major renovation for your property. No job is too small or too large for our company whether from the result of insect or disease damage or simply a change in your landscaping. The following are other benefits of core aeration:
- Improved air exchange between the soil and atmosphere.
- Enhanced soil water uptake.
- Improved fertilizer uptake and use.
- Reduced water runoff and puddling.
- Improved turf grass rooting.
- Reduced soil compaction.
- Enhanced heat and drought stress tolerance.
- Improved resiliency and cushioning.
- Enhanced thatch breakdown.
NEW SODDING
Sodding a new property can be quite a challenge. Your house is built, the interior is decorated, the furnishings are in place, but the exterior grounds are another story. We can prepare and install a lawn to complete the picture. A visit from our turf experts will begin the process. A full estimate will be prepared to include the preparation of the grounds, the supply and application of all materials required, and the information you need to nurture and care for this new investment.
